ADC inaugurates 20-member committee to revalidate membership ahead of 2027 polls

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has inaugurated a 20-member Membership, Revalidation, Mobilisation and Registration (MRMR) Committee to oversee a nationwide membership exercise aimed at strengthening the party’s structures ahead of the 2027 general elections. The committee was inaugurated on Tuesday in Abuja by the party’s National Chairman, David Mark, who said the exercise would establish a credible, verifiable and up-to-date membership base across the country. According to Mark, a strong and well-documented membership is the lifeblood of any political party, determining its legitimacy, reach and prospects for electoral success. UK, France plan troops for post-war Ukraine

The UK and France have agreed in principle to deploy troops to Ukraine if a peace deal is reached with Russia, Prime Minister Keir Starmer has said after talks in Paris. Starmer announced that a “declaration of intent” signed with French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky would pave the way for a legal framework allowing British, French and other partner forces to operate on Ukrainian soil after a ceasefire. The aim, he said, is to help guarantee Ukraine’s security and prevent future Russian aggression. Under the plan, the UK and France would establish military hubs across Ukraine and build protected facilities to store weapons and military equipment to support Ukraine’s defensive needs. Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has publicly called out his father, Mr Olalomi, accusing him of taking away his clothes and other personal belongings. The Zazu crooner made the allegations in a video broadcast circulating online, where he compared his father to the late singer Mohbad’s father, claiming that his dad has been targeting his possessions and properties. Gunmen suspected to be bandits on Tuesday night shot dead four persons at National Park Service in Oloka, Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State. The National Youth Service Corps ( NYSC ) has announced the commencement date for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream One Orientation Course, signalling the start of the service year for thousands of Nigerian graduates.
